Iron Tides

Status: Released on Steam Early Access, Platform: PC/Mac/Linux, Production Time: 2 Years, Team Size: 6-8

Tools Used: Unity, C#, Visual Studio, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, Audacity

Iron Tides is a rogue-lite tactics game currently in early access on Steam. I created this game as part of Crash Wave Games, a small startup that I co-founded in 2015. I was responsible for about 80% of the game's production, including design, programming and art. I worked with a small team of contractors to handle the remaining tasks in audio, QA, development, and video editing.

A few of the features I worked on:

- Design and implementation of a deep, synergistic combat system with over 140 abilities.

- Design, implementation and balancing for over 100 combat levels, 7 player classes and 40+ enemy types.

- A procedural terrain generation system for creating explorable maps.

- Development of a data management system for loading most game data from easily modified spreadsheets.

- A wide variety of fully animated humanoid characters and detailed environments.

Time Splicers

Status: Released, Platform: Browser, Production Time: 1 Week, Team Size: 1

Tools Used: Adobe Flash, ActionScript 3, Photoshop

I developed this game for a one week game contest. It's a defense shooting game with a portal mechanic. You have to defend both sides of the screen but can only travel through the portal to do so. Enemies and bullets can also move through the portal, which has to be accounted for.

The game features endless waves of enemies, which become progressively more numerous and challenging. There are eight different enemy types, a super weapon that can be charged by collecting power ups, and a leaderboard using id.net cloud services.
